MediCard Foundation celebrated the World Teachers’ Day and the Indigenous Peoples Month last October 5, 2018 by holding classroom activities, storytelling, dancing, providing snacks and distributing color-coded shirts as school uniform to the 170 Aeta Daycare to Grade 6 Pupils and seven teachers of Camachile Elementary School at Barangay Nabuklod in Floridablanca, Pampanga. Hats off to all energetic volunteers and participants. Special thanks to Rev. Albert and Rev. Leslie dela Cruz, Teachers Erlinda Sapaula, Gladys Tracy Dimla and Mercy Espino, and to Ms. Debbie Chen for the coordination and for the warm reception. Many thanks to Ms. Nini Edades, Dr. Jaen Castillo and Ms. Ana Robles for sponsoring the snack of children. Happy Birthday and thanks also to Mr. Alfie de Leon and his family for providing the breakfast of the Team. The MFI Team who served as teachers for the day is led by Mr. Voltaire Victoria together with Ms. Nini Edades, Mr. Bryan Vergara, Ms. Cris Ambrosio, Mr. Alfie de Leon, Ms. Jenylyn de Leon, Ms. Jen Lorica, Ms. Emjhay Balagtas, Ms. Jane Torres, Ms. Brigette Nombila, Mr. Darwin Dioquino, Mr. Albert Cortes and Mr. Jerry Esteves. The annual visit and gift-giving of MediCard Foundation to the Nabuklod Aeta Community is part of its Livelihood for the Indigenous Filipino Ethnicity or LIFE program.




MediCard Foundation recently competed against 11 Teams from 25 participating companies at the “3rd Palarong Pinoy” organized by the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) and the Magna Kultura Foundation. The successful event was held last May 19, 2018 at the Gymnasium of Trinity University of Asia in Quezon City. The MFI Team is led by Team Captain Voltaire Victoria together with Team Members: Bryan Vergara, Ronald Taneo, Buboy dela Pena, Albert Cortes, Francisco Aquino III, Ronnel Avancena, Roderico Chua, Michael James Olayon, Dave Anthony de Loyola, Manny Elip, Cristina Ambrosio, Girlie Sanchez, Brigette Nombila, Armena Rose Ibanez, Bebsie Recto, Jenelyn Lorica, Jackielyn Baladjay, Rowena Menor, Anna Camille Medina, Ana Corina Guzman and Honeyfel Sajitarios.

MFI bagged the “Best in Uniform” special award. PAGCOR emerged as back-to-back champion followed by Phoenix Publishing and the National Grid of the Philippines. Other companies that participated were Asalus Intellicare, Ever Bilena, Healthway Medical, JG Summit Group, Merk Inc., UCPB Gen, PMAP, and the Mixed Group from different companies. Congratulations to all!




MAY 30, 2018: MediCard Foundation once again supported DepEd's "BRIGADA ESKWELA" Campaign this year by providing the First Aid Station and by distributing foldable fans at La Huerta Elementary School which is located along NAIA Road in Paranaque City. “Zumba-Ligo” was the third day activity at LHES with a morning bath provided by five firetrucks from La Huerta, Dongalo and San Dionisio. There was also a distribution of apples to all participants. This year’s theme is “Pagkakaisa Para sa Handa, Ligtas at Matatag na Paaralan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan.” Special thanks to Teacher Fe Lustanas for inviting MediCard Foundation as part of their fun-filled and productive program which was covered by UNTV. LHES is currently home to 3,500 grade school pupils (Kinder to Grade 6).


MAY 29, 2018: MediCard Foundation supported DepEd’s BRIGADA ESKWELA activities at Navotas National High School by providing the First Aid Station and by distributing foldable fans to adult participants. This partnership was through the “Ready for School” campaign of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) led by its program officers Ms. Susan Francisco, Ms. Lea Sacay and Mr. Bong Baylon. Teachers, parents, students and employee representatives from MediCard Foundation, PLDT-Navotas, Philippine Stock Exchange Foundation, TSM Shipping Phils., Unilever Philippines and PBSP attended the ceremonies and volunteered at the second day activities of Brigada Eskwela in the school. NNHS is currently home to 3,800 Junior High School Students (Grades 7 to 10) and headed by School Principal Dr. Maria Cristina Robles.




MediCard Foundation supported the 15th Humanitarian Mission of Alpha Phi Omega (APO) last May 26, 2018 at Barangay Capintalan in Carranglan, Nueva Ecija by distributing MFI Caps to 300 Children. MFI also added fun and excitement to the event by holding a “Shoot Those Rings” fun game with corresponding prizes. More than 2,000 indigenous and community people from Barangays Capintalan, Minuli, Putlan and Salazar were catered by the "Tambayan ng Po-Aps & Friends" Teams who provided FREE medical check-up with medicines, dental extraction, optical reading glasses, circumcision, feeding activity and haircut services plus giti-giving of apples, slippers, caps, seeds, groceries, clothes, school supplies, etc. Aside from the Kalanguya who comprised most of the beneficiaries, there were also Kankanaeys, Ibaloy and Igorot tribes who participated in this very successful event. Special thanks to Ms. Helen Hirang Amante, Ms. Glenda Kendall and Ms. Myline Valencia for inviting MediCard Foundation again to be part of this noble humanitarian mission.
