MediCard Fondation observed "linggo ng Hika" or "asthma Week" alst August 8 to 14, 2016 pursuant to Proclamation 442 (signed by Former President Fidel V. Ramos on August 10, 1994) by donating a total of 16 Nebulizer Kits to Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Sta. Cruz, Manila and to some barangay health centers, schools, communities and asthmatic individuals endored by MediCard employees.


MFI personally handed over the nebulizers last August 12 to the Pediatric Ward of Fabella Hospital thru Mr. Arnulfo Pablo (Property Manager), Ms. Ana Estrella Apruebo (Nurse V) and Ms. Fe Trinilla (Nurse III). Fabella is a maternal and newborn government hospital located at Sta. cruz, Manila. The MFI Team is led by Volts Victoria together with Margaret de Galicia, Cristina Ambrosio, Bryan Vergara and Jerry Esteves.


"Tulong Gulong" is Medicard Foundation’s quarterly donation of wheelchairs and other assistive devices to deserving indigent beneficiaries. For its 17th gift -giving activity last June 17, 2016, MFI personally handed over 8 adult wheelchairs, 8 walkers and 8 canes with chair to 24 elderly endorsed by Ms. Jenette Rubis of DSWD at the Haven for the Elderly in Tanay, Rizal. Our generous partner, the kiwanis Club of Laguna Sparkling Rubies , also donated 800 adult diapers to our beloved 142 Lolas and 86 Lolos.

Back-to-school Gift Giving Outreach in Itogon, Benguet .

Medicard Foundation and the Kiwanis Club of Laguna Sparkling Rubies personally reached out to the 200 indigent grade school pupils and some high school students of Itogon, Benguet in a “ Back to School “ Gift-Giving Ceremonies and Feeding Program held at Ampucao National High School last June 10, 2016. These deserving children were carefully selected and endorsed by their respective teachers from Grade 1 to Grade 10.


Special thanks to Ms. Marcelyn Paquitol, Ms. Annalyn Galutan and Ms. Rosemarie Yangkin for being the project coordinators of this joint outreach. Thank you also to Ms. Armie Misa for the additional school supplies and to Barangay Ampucao Council for the very nice token to Medicard and Kiwanis.


The MFI Team is led by its Presidents Mr. Luis Montoya together with Volts Victoria, Dr. Jaen Castillo, Bryan Vergara, Joy Sitjar, Cris Ambrosio, Joseph Burayag, Farley Fernandez, Nerscy Fernandez, Jolina Gonzales, Arlyn Ildefonso, Chris Dao- anis, Jerry Esteves and Patrick Esteves.


The Kiwanis group on the other hand is headed by its current president Ms. Jasmin Taleon together with Lilia Morales, Zucen Sitchon, Norma Lobaton, Ching Mersado, Myz Morales, Anna Miranda, Nelzen Taleon and Zajnec Taleon.


May 20,2016: Medical and Optical Mission at Nuestra Señora de los Angeles Parish Church in Sta. Maria, Laguna in partnership with Kiwanis Club of Laguna Sparkling Rubies (led by President Jasmin Taleon), the Catholic Women’s League - Vicariate of San Pedro Apostol (led by President Norma Lobaton), and the CWL from Sta. Maria Laguna (led by President Erminigilda Loredo). A total of 740 patients (475 medical and 265 optical) were served in this 4th class municipality. The Kiwanis Club also distributed shoes to more than 100 children. BIG THANKS to the Medical Team, to Rev. Fr. Elden Cabuhat, to all volunteers, and to all who have this joint outreach possible.
