“Tulong Gulong” is MediCard Foundation’s quarterly donation of wheelchairs and other assistive devices to deserving indigent beneficiaries. For its 16th gift-giving activity last March 11, 2016, MFI handed over nine adult wheelchairs, one pedia wheelchair, three canes with chair, one walker with wheels, and two crutches to 16 deserving persons with disability (PWD’s) and seniors who were pre-screened and endorsed by the Lingkod Kalinga Bulacan Foundation, Inc. in Saluysoy, Meycauayan City, namely:
1. Jonathan A. Irino, 13, difficulty in walking
2. Lorenzo Bolante L. Dela Torre, 14, cerebral palsy
3. Geneveva Buluran Mendoza, 84, stroke
4. Laura Avena, 57, stroke
5. Jeremiah Ecalla, 19, leading to disability
6. Cirilo D. Calatraua, 63, half body paralysis due to stroke
7. Antonio A. Cu, 78, stroke and Alzheimer
8. Luzviminda Atioza, 30, cerebral palsy
9. Margarita M. Alcorisa, 63, stroke and diabetes
10. Abelardo Vidania, 73, arthritis and prostate disease
11. Rosita C. Schuthess, 78, arthritis
12. Jose O. Esteban, 49, blindness
13. Antonio C. Espiritu, 64, paralysis
14. Greg Evangelista, 63, paralysis
15. Ancelmo T. Delos Angeles, 65, paralysis
16. Jorge Buhat, 58, heatstroke

Abovelisted patients are residents of Sta. Maria, Marilao, Obando and Meycauayan in Bulacan. LKBFI is represented by Ms. Jane Villarica while the MediCard Foundation is led by Mr. Voltaire Victoria together with Ms. Joy Sitjar, Ms. Margaret de Galicia, Mr. Bryan Vergara and Mr. Manny Elip.

Other Beneficiaries of Tulong Gulong 16 were:
1. PASTORA DELOS SANTOS, a 93-year-old bedridden elderly who suffered from stroke, is the latest beneficiary of MediCard Foundation's "Tulong Gulong" program. Special thanks to Ms. Donna Cruz for transporting the wheelchair via boat to Nanay Pastora's residence in Purok 2, Binuangan, Obando, Bulacan.
2. SALITA ESTABAYA, a stroke patient from Paranaque, is another beneficiary of MediCard Foundation's "Tulong Gulong" program through the endorsement of the Pilgrim Churches of Diocese of Paranaque. Special thanks to Ms. Lulu Dadia and to Ms. Tess Gonzaga for transporting the wheelchair to Nanay Salita's residence


The Officers and Trustees of MediCard Foundation, headed by its Chairman Dr. Concepcion S. Montoya and President Mr. Luis S. Montoya, had their 4th Annual Board Meeting at the Conference Room of MFI Office in Makati City last March 2, 2016. More than 40 projects for 2016 under MFI's 9 Regular Programs were discussed and approved. All donors, members and partner organizations were duly acknowledged. Also in attendance were Atty. Jon Montoya (corporate secretary), Ms. Elizabeth Laqui (treasurer), Mr. Voltaire Victoria (executive director), Ms. Maricel Torres (trustee), Dr. Jerreen Balburias (trustee), Ms. Nini Edades (trustee), and Ms. Rosemarie Alipio (trustee).

MediCaravan at Talim Island, Binangonan, Rizal (611 Patients Served)

MediCard Foundation conducted a Medical and Optical Mission in partnership with Hope Church of Binangonan held at Bangad Elementary School in Talim Island, Binangonan, Rizal last February 26, 2016. A total of 611 Patients were served: 465 medical and 146 optical. The MFI Team is led by its president Mr. Luis S. Montoya while Hope Church is headed by Pastor Jun & Mrs. Amy Serrano. Big thanks to the Medical Team and to all volunteers for ensuring the success of this outreach.

“Padugo sa Buwan ng mga Puso”

MediCard Foundation conducted its Pre-Valentine Blood Letting Activity dubbed as “Padugo sa Buwan ng mga Puso” last February 12, 2016 at the MediCard 25th Floor Conference Room of The World Centre Building in Makati City. This annual event was in partnership with The Philippine Red Cross, Rizal Chapter - Makati City Branch.

Congratulations to the 53 Successful Donors from MediCard (32), Megaworld (20) and Firmenich (1)! All successful donors received a handy First Aid Kit from MediCard Foundation.

Big thanks to the Red Cross Team: Dr. Sean David Brosoto, Patrick Ramos, Hope Eisma, Gail Ybanez, Reynalene Dotimas, Mary Grace Largo, Jezreel Pondar and Jan Wendell Bautista.
