Oplan Tuli 5 in Balut Tondo, Manila

MediCard Foundation provided FREE circumcision for the fifth time through its “OPLAN TULI” program last April 22, 2016 in Balut, Tondo, Manila. This was in partnership with the Intimate Presence of Christ Church Youth Ministry (headed by Pastor Crisencio Araullo and Youth Pastor Jay Felipe) and the UPSILON Sigma Rho Confraternity (led by Dra. Yeng Norma-Felipe, Dra. Rocell Villafuerte-Santos, Dr. Danilo Camaya and Dr. Ace Elarde). A total of 75 kids were given free circumcision, prescribed medicines, and Bible. Big thanks to the whole Surgical Team, to all volunteers, and to all who have ensured the success of this joint project.

MediCard Foundation supported Alpha Phi Omega

May 28, 2016: MediCard Foundation has supported the Humanitarian Mission of Alpha Phi Omega (APO) by providing the reading glasses (Optical) and by bringing the fun and exciting Buzzer Game. More than 1,000 Aetas (Katutubo) from 6 Sitios of Marcos Village in Mabalacat, Pampanga were treated and have benefited from this APO Mission that included Medical, Dental, Optical, Circumcision, Feeding, Gift-Giving of Slippers and School Supplies. Special thanks to Ms. Jelenie Stackhouse and Mr. Chris Cruz of APO for inviting MediCard Foundation to be part of this successful outreach.

MediCaravan in Dingras, Ilocos Norte (813 Patients Served)

MediCard Foundation conducted a Medical and Optical Mission at Barangay San Marcelino in Dingras, Ilocos Norte last March 22, 2016 in partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Laguna Sparkling Rubies led by its president Ms. Jasmin Taleon and the Kiwanis Club of Laoag City headed by Lt. Gov. Michael Luis of Division I-C.

A total of 813 patients were served: 596 medical and 217 optical. BIG THANKS to the Medical Team, to all volunteers and co-sponsors, to the Municipality of Dingras, and to all who have made this joint outreach possible.

MFI supports MaSci’s 1st Ethics Bowl

As part of its Children and Senior Response (CSR) programs, MediCard Foundation supported the "1st Ethics Bowl" of the Manila Science High School last March 14, 2016 as co-sponsor of the event. “Ethics Bowl is a collaborative yet competitive event that encourages students to deepen their understanding and appreciation of compelling and complex ethical and philosophical issues. It also demands that students analyze their reasoning rather than simply hone their rhetorical skills.”

Congratulations to the following Grade 10 students from 9 sections: Champion -Team MANEKILYA; 1st Runner-up – Team LAWCO (Lawrence & Copernicus); 2nd Runner-up – Team ROENSTEIN (Roentgen & Einstein); and 3rd Runner-up – Team FARATOWNES (Faraday & Townes). MFI executive director Mr. Voltaire Victoria served as one of the three judges. Special thanks to the organizers led by Teacher Hazel B. Forastero of MaSci’s Values Education Department.
