“Tulong Gulong” is MediCard Foundation’s quarterly donation of wheelchairs and other assistive devices to deserving indigent beneficiaries. On its 21st gift-giving activity last June 16, 2017, MFI personally handed over 10 wheelchairs, 2 pairs of crutches, 2 canes with seat and 1 walker to 15 individuals endorsed by the Citizens Crime Watch (CCW) and the DSWD Office of Hagonoy, Bulacan from nine (9) different barangays. Turnover was held inside the Parish Church of Barangay San Roque. MFI also donated boxes of pediatric medicines during the same day medical, dental and optical mission organized by CCW which is headed by its Hagonoy Chapter Chairman Jeune Ramirez together with DSWD Officer Angelina dela Cruz.

MediCard Foundation donated 100 Hygiene Kits last June 9 and 10, 2017for the grade school pupils of Aglipay and Mandella in Quirino Province through the “Project Backpack “ initiated by Christian Missionary couple Mr. Bobby and Mrs. Aires Dela Cruz. The couple launched the first leg of “Project Backpack” in 2014 as a back-to-school fund raising campaign for the survivors of the Typhoon Yolanda that strongly hit the Visayas region in 2013. MFI has been supporting this project since it started on May 26, 2014 in Aklan.


MediCard Foundation and Wolrd Vision Philippines happily distributed school bags, school supplies and snacks to 150 indigent grade school pupils of Baseco Compound in Port Area, Manila last May 26, 2017 as their joint “Balik Eskwela” Gift-Giving Program for the year. Handover of gifts was held at San Nicolas de Tolentino Subparish Chapel within the compound after the short program and interactive storytelling which was enjoyed by all attendees.


MediCard Foundation is led by Mr. Voltaire Victoria (executive director) together with Mr. Bryan Vergara (program supervisor), Ms. Cris Ambrosio (admin. and program assistant), Ms. Emily Perante (member-volunteer) and Mr. Jerry Esteves (staff).


World Vision Philippines on the other hand is headed by Mr. Jun Godornes (resource development director) together with Mr. Marlon Villanueva (health and nutrition advisor), Ms. Cherryanne Valencia (acquisition manager), Mr. AJ Renomeron (corporate engagement specialist) and Ms. Abigail Bayucan (community development officer).


Special thanks to the teachers of ING Bank Foundation Learning Center led by Ms. Bhabes Race for the facilitation, to Ms. Melanie Abad Ramirez of The National Library for the interactive storytelling, and to Mr. Shaun and Mrs. Genette Mae Shuler of Louisiana, USA for the additional school supplies.

MediCard Foundation joins Philippine Coalition of Volunteerism

MediCard Foundation was inducted last May 22, 2017 as the 16th regular member of the Philippine Coalition on Volunteerism (PhilCV). The oathtaking ceremony was held at AIM Conference Center in Makati City during the 45th General Assembly (GA) of the Association of Foundations (AF). 12 new members were inducted on top of the five founding members. PhilCV, headed by Chairperson Dr. Grace Aguiling-Dalisay and President Mr. Timothy Gabuna, has 17 regular members now, MediCard Foundation being the 16th.


PhilCV is a consortium of volunteer involving organizations whose mission is to unify and synergize various volunteer efforts in the Philippines towards nation building. MFI is represented by its executive director Voltaire Victoria, program supervisor Bryan Vergara and admin. assistant Cris Ambrosio.
