“IYAK NG GALAK“

December 10, 2016: Medicard Accounting, Human Resources and Information Technology Departments together with Medicard Foundation and Staff Gap personally distributed 100 Crib Sets to the Newborn Babies of Dr. Jose Fabella Hospital in Sta. Cruz Manila. 200 Medicard Wipes were also handed to Mothers and Pediatric patients while they were being serenaded with Christmas Carols by the Medicard Team. The four groups are led by Ms. Beth Laqui, Ms. Freda Bongalan, Mr. Mark Borja, Ms. Dette dela Cruz and Mr. Voltaire Victoria. BIG THANKS to all our generous sponsors and to all who joined in this Christmas outreach.

 
“PAGSALUBONG SA MANDALUYONG” Isang Maagang Pagdiriwang ng Kapaskuhan.

November 28, 2016: Medicard Foundation, Medicard Provider Relations Department, and Skin & Body by Medicard Laser and Aesthetic Care Center jointly conducted an early Christmas gift-giving activity for the 300 selected inmates (workers) and 50 prison guards on duty of the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in the City of Mandaluyong. The PRD Team is headed by Dr. Lulu Terencio while the Skin & Body Group is led by Ms. Bambi Habalo. Thank you to all our generous sponsors and volunteers. Big thanks also to CIW thru Ms. Cathy Capanang(senior prison guard) for their warm reception and for showcasing the many talents of the inmates.

 
Medicaravan in Sampaloc, Manila (874 patients served)

November 18, 2016: Medicard Foundation and the PNP Manila Police District Station 4 jointly conducted a Medical, Optical and Dental Mission at Dapitan Sports Complex in Sampaloc, Manila.MFI also provided Random Blood Sugar testing and Blood Typing while the MPD also conducted a Feeding Program. A total of 874 patients were served: 380 medical, 265 optical, 201 RBS/BT and 28 dental. Special thanks to the following: CEU Dental Volunteers, Central UMC choir,UST Brass Quintet, Angelica’s Catering, Original 7 Lime Corp.,Agua de Gracia Water Station and to Manila District 4 Barangay Officials. Big thanks to the medical team, to all volunteers and to all who have made this joint outreach possible. Many thanks also to Atty. Irene Magat and to Police Superintendent Aquino Olivar for being the overall coordinators of this successful endeavor.

 
“A DAY WITH OUR INDIGENOUS”

On their third year of fruitful partnership, Medical Foundation, Inc. (MFI) and Firmenich (Philippines) jointly conducted an outreach activity at the Aeta Community of Sitio Camachile in Barangay Nabuklod, Florida, Pampanga last September 22, 2016.

 

The Firmenich Team distributed water containers to the 140 households of the community. They also donated gardening tools to the school and also provided lunch for 300 residents. MFI on the other hand donated caps, umbrella and loot bags to the 175 grade school pupils and 10 teachers of Camachile Elementary School. The tandem also engaged themselves in the planting of seedlings after the ceremonial dance of some 'katutubo'. This was followed by classroom activities and fun games for all pupils after were dived into four groups.

 

Firmenich, the largest privately owned international producer of perfumery and flavor chemical, always conducts an annual outreach activity as part of their global community day. The team is headed by their General Manager Isabelle Duret together with Cynthia Macapugay, Tess Carreon , Richard Brillante, Analyn Gonzales, Joyce Anyayahan, Eunice Calinga, Charina Meneses, Armie Misa, Jec Prinsipe, Sheila Reyes, Tina Rosales, Allan Alano and Vercel Sotelo.

 

MFI started supporting our indigenous fellowmen at Sitio Camachile in July of 2013 by donating 10 'Arkong Balag na Bakal' or iron arc trellis which they still use up to now. This is part of MFI’s Livelihood for Indigenous Filipino Ethnicity (L.I.F.E) program. The MFI Team is led by its Executive Director Voltaire Victoria with Bryan Vergara, Cristina Ambrosio, Farley Fernandez, Nercy Fernandez, Jhene Viernes, Shenna Mae Lacson, Raymund Laurilla and Manny Ellip.

 

MFI and Firmenich would like to thank all the volunteers for sharing their time, effort and talent. Special thanks to Pastora Leslie dela Cruz of Camachile United Methodist Church for being the site project coordinator and for the warm hospitality of the whole community.
