MediCard Foundation and the Kiwanis Club of Laguna Sparkling Rubies jointly conducted a Medical and Optical Mission at the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City. A total of 617 patients were served (400 medical + 217 optical). The Kiwanis Team, led by their new president Ms. Lilia Morales, also distributed soap and shampoo to all patients plus hand sanitizers from MediCard. The CIW Dance Troupe and the New Generation Dancers provided entertainment after the mission proper. Big thanks and salute to the Medical Team, to the Kiwanis Team, to all volunteers, to the COP Brigade and Conference Room Workers, to Prison Officer Cathy Capanang for the facilitation, to the Office of Mayor Menchie Abalos for the lunch, to CIW OIC Elsa Alabado for the Plaque of Appreciation, and to all who have made this joint outreach successful.



Last October 6, 2017, MediCard Foundation celebrated the World Teachers Day and the Indigenous Peoples Month by holding classroom activities, storytelling, providing snacks and distributing new white shirts as school uniform to the 180 Aeta Pupils (Daycare to Grade 6) of Camachile Elementary School at Barangay Nabuklod in Floridablanca, Pampanga. The MFI Team served as teachers and also led in the group dancing of the current craze "Baby Shark". Salute to all volunteers and participants. Special thanks to Pastora Leslie dela Cruz of Camachile United Methodist Church for the coordination and for the warm reception. Happy Birthday and big thanks also to Ms. Ulyssa Dimalanta and Mr. Alfie de Leon of Claims Pro Philippines for sponsoring the breakfast and lunch of the MFI Team.


The MFI Team is led by Mr. Volts Victoria together with Mr. Bryan Vergara, Ms. Cris Ambrosio, Ms. Ulyssa Dimalanta, Mr. Alfie de Leon, Ms. Jenylyn de Leon, Ms. Jackielyn Baladjay, Ms. Bebsie Recto and Mr. Jerry Esteves. The annual visit and gift-giving of MediCard Foundation to the Nabuklod Aeta Community is part of its Livelihood for the Indigenous Filipino Ethnicity or LIFE program.



“Tulong Gulong” is MediCard Foundation’s quarterly donation of wheelchairs and other assistive devices to deserving indigent beneficiaries. On its 22nd gift-giving activity last September 15, 2017, MFI personally handed over 4 adult wheelchairs, 4 pedia wheelchairs, 2 walkers and 1 cane with chair to Munting Tahanan ng Nazareth in the City of Mabalacat, Pampanga. Nazareth currently provides home to 38 mentally and physically challenged individuals with ages ranging from 11 to 51. It is a home for the poor, abandoned, surrendered and handicapped special children. MFI also provided snacks and distributed stress balls to everybody during the outreach activity.

Special thanks to Ms. Joanna Ablan of MediCard SBD1 Department and to Bishop James Guiwan of the Mormon Church of San Fernando for the endorsement and coordination. The MFI Team is led by its executive director Voltaire Victoria together with Bryan Vergara, Cris Ambrosio, Joanna Ablan and Jerry Esteves.



As part of its Works Of Wellness (WOW) programs, MediCard Foundation observed “LINGGO NG HIKA” or “ASTHMA WEEK” last August 7 to 12, 2017 pursuant to Proclamation No. 442 (signed by Former President V. Fidel Ramos on August 10, 1994) by donating a total of 12 Nebulizer Kits to the following: Tahanang Balik-Alay in Taytay, Rizal; Bitik Elementary School in Marulas, Valenzuela City; Judge Juan Luna High School in San Francisco del Monte, Quezon City; Fisherman of Christ Fellowship Church in Lubao, Pampanga; Salambao Elementary School in Obando, Bulacan; and to other asthmatic individuals endorsed by MediCard employees.
